PHIL BALL - DJ RISK
July 1985 - January 2009
One of Aperture's biggest characters past away on 29th January 2009, Known to many as DJ Risk was one of the original members of the 'Aperture Family' and helped many others climb on our bandwagon, namely Krisp, Mikee Woo, Zippy & CBD. He was Larger than life and very out-spoken, his opinion wanted or not was known by everyone and most conversations ended with one of the two parties shaking their head in disbelief. On the decks he was the same, set-times couldn't be changed for his obnoxious blend of jump-up, dark d&b, dubstep, bassline or jungle held no prisoners, but at 2am had everyone on the floor brocking out. His biggest success came as a father to Chloe who he adored and put all his time and energy into which was no surprise as he was the ultimate 'Clart with a heart'. He is an exceptional loss to his family and the Aperture family, the saying 'you don't know what you've got till its gone' is the understatement of forever. Phil you'll be remembered forever - Rest in Peace Bro.
We are having an Aperture Memorial to Phil on Friday 13th February in Glo Bar, Cardiff all his friends will be playing tribute sets ranging from drum and bass, garage, bassline and dubstep. The £5 entry fee will go towards a trust fund for chloe.
Sum's him up to a T x RIP x
